It is hereby inform the students of fourth semester M.Sc. Mathematics of 2012 – 2014 batch shall submit
synopsis of the dissertation on or before 10.07.2014. The student has the liberty to choose any topic
which is related to Mathematical Science. The synopsis shall consist of -
o Cover Page: A model is enclosed here under (Annexure 1)
o Title: Shall be precise and attractive.
o Introduction: Introduce the subject underlining the evolution, significance in the field of
technological / engineering / scientific including its Socio – economic relevance.
o Motivation: Elucidate the motivating factor which has made you to undertake the study and its
purposes.
o Objectives and Scope: State your vision and mission of the study by deducing the hypothesis.
o Methodology: Highlight the methodology pursued.
o Bibliography: Furnish the List of reference books, journals, reports, proceedings, newsletters,
websites which you have relied to develop your concept. It shall be in alphabetical order and the
style of bibliography shall be in consonance with Annexure 2.
Note:
1. The Synopsis shall not exceed 10 pages.
2. The dissertation shall be in accordance with Annexure - 3
3. The writing of dissertation shall be commenced only after the approval of the synopsis. The
Annexure -1, 2, & 3 may be downloaded from the website www.karnatakastateopenuniversity.in
4. The dissertation shall be submitted on or before 30-09-2014.
5. The synopsis and the dissertation shall be submitted either in person or by registered post to -
