M.SC MATHEMATICS DISSERTATION GUIDELINES

Dissertation Guidelines 

 It is hereby informed that the students of fourth semester M.Sc Mathematics of 2012 – 2014 batch shall  submit the dissertation on or before 30.09.2014. The approval list of the synopsis of the dissertation is  available in the website http://www.karnatakastateopenuniversity.in/. The students shall comply the  following instructions while writing dissertation. 

The dissertation shall be: 

1. Neatly typed ‘Times New Roman’ with 12 font size of in 1.5 line spacing; 

2. Only in A4 size sheets good quality paper (minimum 80 gsm); 

3. Margins Top 2.54cm, Bottom 2.54cm, left 2.54cm and right 2.54cm; 

4. Neatly bounded and contains at least 40 pages information; 

5. A model of Cover page and preliminary pages are given in Annexure-1 

6. Declaration, Certificate, Acknowledgement and Table of Contents are compulsory. List of 

figures, list of tables and list of abbreviations are optional. 

7. Bibliography must be given at the end and the format for the bibliography is given in 

Annexure-2 

Two copies of the dissertation shall be submitted either in person or by registered post on or 

before the due date mentioned to,

NOTE: One student copy (third copy) of dissertation should be brought on the day of viva voce.
