EMPLOYMENT OF MANUAL SCAVENGERS AND CONSTRUCTION OF DRY LATRINES PROHIBITION - GOVERNMENT NOTIFICATION
Notification under Section 3 of the Employment of Manual Scavengers and Construction of Dry Latrines (Prohibition) Act, 1993 [Notification No. UDD 188 GEL 95 dated 16.7.1996]
NOTIFICATION
In exercise of the powers conferred under Section 3 of the Employment of Manual Scavengers and Construction of Dry Latrines (Prohibition) Act, 1993, the Government of Karnataka hereby bans the engaging, or employment or permission to employ any person or pesons for manually carrying the human excreta or for the construction or maintenance of dry latrines in the City Corporations, City Municipalities, Town Municipalities and Town Panchayats of the State.
The Sub-divisional Magistrates of the Revenue Sub-Divisions within their respective sub-divisions are vested with the powers to implement the provisions of this Act as per Section 5 of the said Act.
